multi-media madness, the first day of madness

the first day at multi-media madness was really fun, but we also learned a lot! we learned about two types of animation, stop motion and pixelation. stop motion is animation using objects, and pixelation is using people. we expirimented with both types and made our own videos, first using ourselves, and then with funny props that we found! we also watched some really cool stop motion videos by an animator called PES. he also made a pixelation video called "human skateboard." at first, we didn't know how it worked, but then we learned all about how it was done, and also how to make our own videos. we also learned about interactive videos, and watched some youtube videos that are interactive, such as rescuing a boy who had a spider on his head, making batman dance, and even using a human drumset! later, we played a game called "museum" where the "watchman," or woman, counts to ten and all the "statues" have to move and then pose, and they can't move until the watchman isn't looking, because if they get caught in motion, they'll be out. throughout the day, we learned about "frame theif," "iMovie," "quicktime," and "garage band" softwares. also, we learned how to use "flip" camcorders and "zoom" audio recorders. today was a very sucessful day and we learned a lot about multi-media, and the madness made it very fun!

i also learned that greenscreens turn everything neon green into the selected background, including my shoes!

looking forward to more madness!
-grace :)
